Beavers (Age 6-8year olds)

Beavers bring the fun into scouting whilst making new friends for life. They try new things and learn about the world around them.

Beavers work towards their Chief Scout Bronze Award and they may even have their first experience of camping.

Cubs (Age 8-10.5 year olds)

Cub Scouts are the master of new skills. In their lively Cub Packs they undertake activities with enthusiasm.

Cubs work towards their Chief Scout Silver Award and also have the chance to attend the Scouts Cymru bi-annual fun day where all Cubs across Wales join in.

Scouts (Age 10.5-14 year olds)

Scouts become more independent as they learn to take responsibility for themselves and the world around them. From camping to expeditions and the chance to attend the World Scout Jamboree every 4 years.

Scouts work towards their Cheif Scout Gold Award

Our Sections
Squirrels (Age 4-6 year olds)

This is our youngest section of scouting. CRAI currently has three Squirrels dreys based in Sirhowy, Cefn Fforest and Caerphilly. We are due to have a new Drey opening soon in Risca.

They have their own uniform, can obtain badges and awards just like the other Scout Sections

Explorers (Age 14-18 year olds)

Explorer Scouts are the last section before adulthood and as such they navigate their journey through scouting by planning their own activities and expeditions under the supervision of leaders.

Many Explorers also take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and the Scouts Young Leaders scheme.

Network (Age 18-25 year olds)

Network Scouts are adults who still have a love of scouting. Try more, See more and do more.
They stand on their own two feet and choose their journey as many continue to work towards their top awards of the Kings Scout Award and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
